Flint Hills acquires 110-million gal/year bioethanol plant in Iowa

Flint Hills Resources (Wichita, KS) has agreed to acquire Platinum Ethanol's Arthur, IA, bioethanol plant. The purchase price is not being disclosed. The transaction is expected to close later this year, subject to regulatory approvals.  The Arthur facility opened in 2008 and has an annual capacity of 110 million gal of bioethanol. It also produces 300,000 lbs/year of distillers’ grains and approximately 23 million lbs/year of nonfood-grade corn oil. “The Arthur plant will be a strong addition to Flint Hills' biofuels business...
