EPA Reporting Rule to Require Monitoring Devices for Most Chemical Facilities

The greenhouse gas (GHG) reporting rule recently finalized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will require the installation of fuel flow monitoring equipment to track GHG emissions at many chemical plants. However, other reporting methods, ranging from a specifically proscribed calculation method to the installation of continuous emissions monitoring systems (CEMS), may be required, depending upon the fuel used in the plant and the type of emissions.
