Dow, DuPont, LyondellBasell and Eastman all beat estimates. BASF, however, saw lower-than-expected earnings and sales. DSM is calling on the industry to phase out styrene, which the U.S. now lists as a possible carcinogen. Braskem has purchased Dow's polypropylene business for $340 million.
