People & Business :: Energy and Feedstocks CPChem to Boost Fractionation Capacity at Sweeny, TX8:58 AM MDT | March 26, 2012 | Lindsey Bewley Chevron Phillips Chemical (CPChem) says it will expand natural gas liquids (NGL) fractionation capacity at its Sweeny, TX facility by about 19%, or about 22,000 bpd. The NGL fractionation unit at Sweeny currently has a capacity of 116,000 bpd. Construction will begin in April and the project is expected to be completed in February 2013. “One of the main drivers for the project is the rapid development of natural gas, crude oil and NGLs from the shale formations in the region,” says Martin Dale, feedstock procurement manager for CPChem...
