People & Business :: Energy and Feedstocks Brunner Mond Invests in Bicarb12:35 PM MDT | July 30, 2007 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Soda ash producer Brunner Mond (Northwich, U.K.) says it will invest £10 million ($19.6 million) to build a new 50,000-m.t./year sodium bicarbonate plant at Northwich. The unit is due for start up in the first half of 2009. Brunner says the new plant will enable it to meet growing demand for its flue gas treatment products, which are used as reagents in various industrial processes. It will also produce sodium bicarbonate for use in animal feedstocks. The new plant will bring Brunner’s total sodium bicarbonate capacity to 180,000...
