Braskem awarded an additional $5-million grant for Marcus Hook propylene splitter

Braskem America (Philadelphia), a wholly owned subsidiary of Braskem, has been awarded a further $5-million grant via Pennsylvania's Economic Growth Initiative for the continued optimization and integration of a portion of the former Sunoco Marcus Hook refinery in Delaware County, PA, according to a statement from the Pennsylvania Office of the Governor. The grant covers a propylene splitter, which produces propylene and other chemicals for use in Braskem's adjacent polypropylene (PP) plant.
