The new technology involves separating carbon dioxide from flue gas in a coal-fired pilot power plant. The process, which uses solvents, requires 20% less energy than standard carbon capture processes, BASF says. The technology should enable more than 90% of the carbon dioxide contained in the waste gas of a power plant to be captured for subsequent sub-surface storage or for chemical...
