Al Armendariz, administrator for U.S. EPA Region 6 (Dallas), resigned April 29 after Senator James Inhofe (R., OK) aired comments Armendariz made in 2010 about having an approach to enforcement modeled on Roman warriors who would “crucify” certain residents of conquered towns to help ensure their compliance with Roman rule.
