People & Business :: Emerging Companies Microbia Preparing for Commercialization2:34 PM MDT | April 20, 2009 | Vincent Valk Microbia (Lexington, MA), a specialty chemicals company developing two carotenoid products, expects to commercialize its first two products by the end of 2010. The company recently appointed Mike Doyle, formerly of BASF, as vice president and general manager of nutrition ingredients. The company currently has about 50 employees and a pilot plant with several hundred liters in volume, says Rich Bailey, Microbia’s CEO.
