Amyris starts selling biobased farnesene online

Renewable products company Amyris (Emeryville, CA) says it is making initial quantities of its biobased farnesene available to a broader audience. The product is being sold online at farnesene.net, the company announced today. Farnesene is an essential oil found in small quantities in certain plants such as apple trees, but Amyris has developed a proprietary technology to produce farnesene at industrial scale.
