Yara reports 40% drop in net income

Yara International (Oslo), a leading global fertilizer producer, today reported a 40% drop in net income, following a major decline in second-quarter 2013. Net income after non-controlling interests fell to 1.57 billion Norwegian kroner ($263 million), compared with NK 2.60 billion in third-quarter 2012. Earnings per share were NK 5.65, compared with NK 9.25 a year ago, a drop of 39%.
