Wacker expects better sales and earnings in 2014, signs polysilicon deal with China

Wacker Chemie has provided more details on its strategies following the recent announcement of the company’s preliminary results. Addressing a press briefing at Munich this morning, CEO Rudolf Staudigl said that the situation is improving in most of Wacker’s businesses, particularly polysilicon, used to make solar and silicon wafers.   The company has, meanwhile, signed an agreement with The Ministry of Commerce (Mofcom; Beijing) pledging not to sell polysilicon in China below a specific minimum price.
