Teijin swings to profit

Teijin reports a net profit of ¥8.35 billion ($82 million) for the full fiscal year, ended 31 March 2014, compared with a net loss of ¥29.13 billion in the previous fiscal year, due to the impact of extraordinary items, which included a gain on sales of investment securities and a decrease in impairment loss on fixed assets, Teijin says. Full-year sales increased 5.2%, to ¥784.4 billion. Operating profits increased 46.3%, to ¥18.1 billion, despite sagging results in the company’s electronics materials and performance polymer products segment...
