People & Business :: Earnings/Finance Syngenta's Sales Rise by 9%, Integrated Strategy Driving Performance2:26 AM MDT | April 18, 2012 | Natasha Alperowicz Syngenta today reported a 9% increase in sales in the first quarter of 2012 with volumes advancing by 5% and prices contributing 4%. Reported sales were 7% higher at $4.3 billion. The company does not disclose first quarter profitability data. In Europe, Africa and the Middle East, sales were up by 14% at constant exchange rates compared with a strong quarter in 2011. In France, a strong underlying performance by Callistoon corn and in fungicides was augmented by a shift in sales from the fourth to the first quarter following a change in the law on credit...
