Syngenta Reports Strong First-Half Performance

Syngenta says sales and net profits increased 7% and 5% in the first half of 2012, to $8.26 billion and $1.5 billion, respectively. The company recorded $1.84 billion in operating profits, which is approximately at the same level as in the prior-year period, and earnings per share increased 10% year-over-year, to $17.17.
