Solvay Reports a 12% Hike in Second-Quarter Rebitda

Solvay in a preliminary financial report says Rebitda for the second quarter of the year rose 12% to €304 million ($437 million) compared with the same period a year earlier. The net income of €111 million is “greatly improved” from the year ago period when the company recorded a net income of €58 million. Sales by volume increased 4% with the price of goods sold 11% up on the year ago period to compensate for a rise in energy costs, the company says.
