Rentech Nitrogen reports higher earnings and sales due to increased production volumes

Rentech Nitrogen (Los Angeles) reported gains in both earnings and sales for the third quarter 2012, with the company benefitting from higher volumes across all product lines, with the exception of nitric acid. Net income was $28.8 million, or 75 cts/share—up 8-fold from the third quarter 2011, and beating analyst estimates of 61 cts/share.
