PotashCorp's Income Falls on Special Items

Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan (PotashCorp) reported a second-quarter net income of $522 million (60 cts/share), down 60% from the year-ago quarter, on a $341-million impairment recorded on the company’s investment in Sinofert Holdings and $29 million in items related to PotashCorp’s phosphate segment.
