PetroChina chemical business’s loss widens

PetroChina’s refining and chemicals business reports an operating loss of 43.5 billion renminbi ($7 billion) in 2012, compared with an operating loss of Rmb61.8 billion in 2011. PetroChina’s chemicals business alone registered an operating loss of about Rmb9.83 billion in 2012, compared with an operating loss of Rmb1.77 billion in 2011.
