Orica reports rise in profits

Orica (Melbourne) reports a 49.3% rise in net profits after tax and after individually material items for the full fiscal year, ended 30 September 2013, compared with the previous fiscal year, to A$601.6 million ($564 million). Full-year sales increased 3.3%, to A$6.89 billion, driven primarily by increased revenue from explosives products in all regions; improved pricing for mining chemicals; and a stronger US dollar, Orica says.
