Momentive Specialty Chemicals swings to loss; performance materials loss narrows

Momentive Specialty Chemicals (MSC) today reported a third-quarter net loss of $76 million, compared with a profit of $342 million in the year-ago quarter, on revenues up 6% year-on-year (YOY), to $1.25 billion. Operating income was up 14% YOY, to $58 million. Epoxy, phenolic and coating resins segment revenues rose 7.3% YOY, to $806 million, while segment Ebitda rose 1.3%, to $77 million.
