People & Business :: Earnings/Finance Mitsui Chemicals swings to loss7:37 AM MDT | November 1, 2012 | Deepti Ramesh Mitsui Chemicals reported a net loss of ¥15.3 billion ($191 million) in its fiscal first half, ended 30 September 2012, compared with a net profit of ¥13.4 billion in the year-ago period. Sales decreased 10%, to ¥680.5 billion, mainly because of a ¥46.1-billion decrease in sales in the company's basic chemicals segment as a consequence of the accident at the company’s Iwakuni-Ohtake production complex at Waki, Japan.
