Methanex gives update on methanol projects, raises second-quarter earnings

Methanex is making “solid progress” on its methanol projects in New Zealand and Medicine Hat, AB, which will add up to 1 million m.t./year capacity by end-2013, John Floren, president and CEO, said on Wednesday. “Our project to relocate the first 1-million ton plant from Chile to Geismar, LA, is on track to be completed by the end of 2014 with the second 1-million ton plant at Geismar expected to be operational in early 2016," he says.   Methanex reports second-quarter adjusted Ebitda of $157 million and adjusted net income of $99...
