Metabolix narrows loss

Polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) firm Metabolix (Cambridge, MA) reports a net loss of $7.2 million for its second quarter, compared with a net loss of $7.9 million in the year-ago quarter. Sales fell 29.4% year-on-year (YOY), to $1.2 million. Second quarter 2014 revenue consisted primarily of revenue from product sales and government grants.
