People & Business :: Earnings/Finance Koppers Reports Higher Second-Quarter Results9:55 AM MDT | August 9, 2012 | Lindsey Bewley Koppers Holdings reported second-quarter net income of $20.4 million (98 cts/share), up 3% from the year-ago quarter, on sales price increases in both its carbon materials and chemicals (CMC) segment and railroad and utility products and services business. CMC segment sales rose 12% from the second quarter of 2011, to $266.7 million, on higher sales volumes and prices for the company’s major products other than naphthalene.
