Johnson Matthey reports 22% increase in first-half profits

Johnson Matthey (London) reported £174.3 million ($281.1 million) in profit for its fiscal first half ended 30 September 2013, an increase of about 22% on the same period the year before. Revenue increased to £6.41 billion during the reported period, up 31% year-on-year (YOY). The precious metals division was by far the largest revenue-generating stream, and contributed £5.07 billion to total sales.
