IFF Reports Second-Quarter Earnings Up 14%

International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) reported second-quarter 2012 net income of $88.6 million, up about 14% from the year-ago quarter. Adjusted earnings per share increased 11%, to $1.08. The flavors business unit reported revenue up 5%, to $361.4 million, compared with the year-ago period. Segment profit increased 14%, to $80.6 million. The fragrances business unit reported revenue down 3%, to $359.9 million, compared with the second quarter of 2011.
