Ems Group's first-quarter revenue up 3%, driven by high-performance polymers

Ems Group (Herrliberg, Switzerland) achieved a 3.1% increase in sales for the first quarter of 2013, to 463 million Swiss francs ($495 million), the company reported today. No profit figures for the quarter were disclosed. More than 85% of the revenue originated from sales of high-performance polymers, which amounted to SF394 million, up 5.6% compared with the same period the year before, the company says. The remaining SF69 million originated from sales of specialty chemicals, which fell by 9.1% from SF76 million during the first quarter of last year. Net sales...
