Ems-Chemie reports increase in sales and profits buoyed by performance polymers

Ems-Chemie (Domat/Ems, Switzerland), a producer of high performance polymers and specialty chemicals, today reported a 9.3% increase in earnings before interest and tax (Ebit) and a 5.5% rise in sales for the first 6 months of this hear. Ebit rose to 183 million Swiss francs ($193.2 million) and sales were SF954 million. The company says that despite volatile market environment it was able to increase business in its main area of high performance polymers and in its main markets of Asia and Europe.
