Dynea Divests Paper Overlays Business in Finland

Dynea Chemicals (Helsinki) has sold its paper overlays business and assets based at Kitee, Finland to Surfactor Finland (Helsinki). The Kitee plant produces phenolic surface films and generated 2011 sales of €17 million ($22 million). Phenolic surface films are resin-impregnated industrial overlays designed to improve the surface characteristics of wood-based panels. Surfactor Finland is an affiliate of Surfactor Germany (Schöppenstedt, Germany), a producer of paper overlays for the plywood industry. It had 2011 sales of €49 million. Dynea...
