Distributor Biesterfeld posts higher earnings and sales

Chemical distributor Biesterfeld Group (Hamburg) says its operating profits increased 5%, to €29.7 million ($38.9 million), in 2012. The company says its 2012 sales rose to €996 million from €963 million in 2011. The results were achieved "despite a volatile business environment and increasing uncertainty in financial and capital markets," Biesterfeld says. The company achieved higher sales in Eastern Europe and Africa as well as in its traditional Western European markets. Biesterfeld says it envisages continuous growth in its activities...
