DIC reports rise in profits

DIC (Tokyo) reports a 51.6% rise in net profits for its full fiscal year, ended 31 December 2013, compared with the previous fiscal year, to ¥26.8 billion ($263 million). Full-year sales increased 12.8%, to ¥705.6 billion, largely because of an increase in sales volumes in Japan and the positive impact of the depreciation of the yen, DIC says. DIC decided last June to change its fiscal year-end from 31 March to 31 December, and, as a result, percentage changes represent comparisons with the adjusted fiscal 2012 figures, the company says.
