People & Business :: Earnings/Finance Calgon Carbon Earnings Fall on Remediation Charge10:32 AM MDT | August 8, 2012 | Lindsey Bewley Calgon Carbon reported second-quarter net income of $10.8 million (19 cts/share), down 4.6% from the year-ago quarter, on a $1.3-million reduction, to complete a remediation project at one of the company’s production facilities. Sales rose 9.7%, to $148.4 million, on higher sales in the company’s activated carbon and service segment. Stronger sales were driven by higher demand for certain activated carbon and service products in the potable water market and higher pricing on activated carbon products for the metals recovery market, the company says...
