Calgon Carbon Earnings Fall on Remediation Charge

Calgon Carbon reported second-quarter net income of $10.8 million (19 cts/share), down 4.6% from the year-ago quarter, on a $1.3-million reduction, to complete a remediation project at one of the company’s production facilities. Sales rose 9.7%, to $148.4 million, on higher sales in the company’s activated carbon and service segment.
