Brenntag posts higher earnings, sales; restructuring boosts results in Europe

Brenntag posted a 1.9% increase in profit after tax for the third quarter compared with the corresponding period of last year, to €81 million ($110 million), on sales up 0.6%, to €2.49 billion. Operating Ebitda increased 9.1% year-on-year (YOY), to €183 million, and gross profit increased 0.8% YOY, to €497 million. The results were achieved in a challenging global economic situation, the company says.
