Altana Reports Increased Sales, Operating Profits

Altana (Wesel, Germany) says sales increased 5% in the first half of 2012, to €886.4 million ($1.09 billion), compared with €840.3 million in the first half of 2011. There was a slight decline in sales volumes, which was offset by price increases and product mix effects, the company says. Net profits remained at the same level as in the prior-year period: €89.9 million.
