Alpek's first-quarter net income down 20%

Alpek (San Pedro Garza García, Mexico) achieved $77 million in net consolidated income during the first quarter of 2013, down 20% on the $96-million income reported during the same period last year. The company's consolidated Ebitda also fell by 18%, to $160 million from $195 million the year before, and first-quarter sales dropped 4%, to $1.83 billion from $1.9 billion in the same period a year earlier.
