People & Business :: Earnings/Finance Yara profits decline on higher fertilizer volumes, lower prices7:15 AM MST | February 12, 2013 | Natasha Alperowicz Leading fertilizer producer Yara International (Oslo) today reported a significant drop in fourth-quarter profits, despite higher sales volumes. Fourth-quarter net income after minorities was 36% down, at 2.17 billion Norwegian kroner ($420.4 million). Earnings per share were NK7.72 compared with NK11.84 a year earlier. Excluding net foreign exchange gain and special items, the result was NK7.25 per share compared with NK8.82 per share in fourth quarter 2011.
