People & Business :: Earnings/Finance Compass Minerals reports low volumes in deicing products due to mild winter9:40 AM MST | January 10, 2013 | Lindsay Frost Compass Minerals released its fourth-quarter 2012 highway deicing sales volume and regional weather data, showing year-over-year (YOY) declines due to high customer carry-over inventories following last season’s mild winter and continued mild winter weather into this season, the company says. The company’s deicing sales volume, including all highway maintenance products sold in the US, Canada and the UK—as well as rock salt to the chemical industry—were about 2.3 million tons, down 85% YOY.
