People & Business :: Corporate Social Responsibility Soda Ash: Solvay Moves Ahead of the Pack on Environmental Initiatives4:14 AM MDT | May 31, 2011 | Alex Scott in Green River, WY Solvay has developed a process for capturing and using methane from its soda ash operations in Green River, Wyoming that is set to slash its emissions of carbon dioxide-equivalent (CO2e) at the site by at least 300,000 m.t./year. Solvay will introduce its pioneering process commercially in mid-July. In a separate project at the same site, the firm has introduced a patent-pending process that reuses mine tailings to make a quality soda ash product.
