Settlement Filed Over Melamine-Tainted Pet Food Recall

Menu Foods (Toronto) and other pet food manufacturers involved in the melamine-tainted pet food scandal last year have established a $24-million settlement fund to handle numerous law suits. A hearing on the motion for preliminary approval of the settlement agreement was set for May 30, says Menu Foods, which sued its food ingredient distributor ChemNutra (Las Vegas) last year over failing to supply the “high-quality” wheat gluten ingredient that it had promised.
