Plastics Recovery Hits 50% in Europe

The recovery of plastics in Europe reached 50% for the first time in 2007, according to a report by plastics manufacturing and recycling groups PlasticsEurope (Brussels), EuPC (Brussels), EuPR (Brussels), and EPRO (Brussels). Plastics recovery was up one percentage point in Europe in 2007 from the year earlier, and plastics demand in Europe increased 3%, to 52.5 million m.t., the report says.
