Bayer CropScience and local fire department officials say they have not yet identified the cause of an August 28 explosion that killed one and injured another at Bayer CropScience’s plant at Institute, WV. “There was a chemical release in the immediate area of the structure which developed into a fire several minutes later,” Bayer says.
