EPA and Dow Reach Preliminary Agreement on Midland Cleanup

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Dow Chemical have reached a preliminary agreement whereby Dow will take responsibility for cleaning a dioxin-contaminated Superfund site near its Midland, MI manufacturing facility. The site, which includes watersheds around the Tittabawassee and Saginaw Rivers in Michigan, near the towns of Midland, Saginaw and Bay City, has been the subject of negotiations for several years.
