EPA Terminates Dow Midland Cleanup Talks

EPA has terminated negotiations with Dow Chemical that were aimed at developing a plan for cleaning up dioxins and furans from waterways near Dow’s Midland, MI facility. Dow and EPA have been discussing a plan for months, but a memo leaked recently to the press shows that some at EPA have objected to Dow’s efforts to control the cleanup negotiations (CW, Dec. 19/26, p. 27).
