CSB, Bayer Debate Right- to-Know on Fatal Blast

The Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board (CSB; Washington) says it will hold a public meeting on April 23 to provide an update on CSB’s investigation into the explosion last August at Bayer CropScience’s Institute, WV pesticide complex that killed two. CSB had postponed the meeting after Bayer attorneys raised concerns that information to be discussed at the meeting could violate the Maritime Transportation and Security Act (MTSA). CSB says it has not agreed to change the planned discussion, although it will consult U.S. Coast Guard...
