Activist Group Impersonates USCAP

A press release claiming to be written by the U.S. Climate Action Partnership (USCAP; Washington) was distributed to the media last Monday saying that the group was calling for a moratorium on new coal-fired power plants and that its members had agreed to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 90% by 2050. The press release included a link to a Web site that appeared identical to USCAP’s real site.
