Westlake increases ethylene and PVC capacity at Kentucky plant

Westlake Chemical says it is converting its Calvert City, KY ethylene plant from propane to ethane feedstock, as well as increasing ethylene capacity from 450 million lbs/year, to 630 million lbs/year. The company is also expanding its polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plant at Calvert City—adding about 200 million lbs/year to the existing 1.1 billion lbs/year of capacity.
