People & Business :: Companies Wellman Closes Two Production Sites as Part of Reorganization5:01 AM MDT | September 29, 2008 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Wellman says it has stopped production permanently at its Johnsonville and Darlington, SC manufacturing sites in accordance with a reorganization plan designed to help the company exit bankruptcy by year-end. Wellman announced earlier this month that it would exit the polyester staple fiber (PSF) and engineering plastics businesses, and consolidate polyethylene terephthalate (PET) resin production at its 860-million lbs/year Pearl River, MS facility.
