Univar to Acquire ChemCentral

Univar, the second-largest chemical distributor worldwide, has agreed to acquire privately held rival ChemCentral, number four, for about $600 million in cash, including assumed debt. The deal will allow Univar to overtake Brenntag as the largest chemical distributor worldwide with combined estimated sales of about $8 billion, and will significantly expand Univar’s U.S. presence.
