Toyobo to build engineering plastics plant in Brazil

Toyobo do Brasil, a wholly owned subsidiary of Toyobo (Osaka), has decided to build an engineering plastics production plant at the company's Americana, Brazil site, the company announced. The project aims to develop Toyobo's engineering plastics business for automotive parts in Brazil, the company says. The plant will have a production capacity of about 5,000 m.t./year and will manufacture functional polymers that use polyester, nylon, and other materials as a base. The total investment amounts to ¥1 billion ($10.2 million) and the start-up date is planned...
